Improve amenities, says Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao

The traffic in the tri-cities is increasing and there is a need to widen the main highway.

WARANGAL: Chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials to provide basic amenities to the people like bus bays, vegetable market space, good roads, parks, public toilets and strive to make it a clean and green city.
He held a review meeting with the officials, MLAs and MPs at the residence of Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao here on Thursday.

He asked the officials to utilise the Rs 300 crore the state government has allotted in the budget to address the problems of people in Warangal and to plan and execute development works effectively.

"The traffic in the tri-cities is increasing and there is a need to widen the main highway," he pointed out and told the officials to build footpaths on either side of the highway and ensure greenery on the divider.

The chief minister asked the officials to build a theme park in 100 acres. When officials said that 70 acres was already available, he asked them to begin works immediately. He wanted residential quarters also to be built on the premises of government offices like the collectorate to enable employees live at their workplace.

He directed the officials to tour the surrounding areas of the city and know the problems people were facing and do the needful like build good roads, drainage system, provide drinking water, etc.

"A big textile park would come up in the city and this is likely to increase the population. Relevant steps should be taken to meet the needs of the public in the future," he suggested.
