Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi flyover awaits inauguration nod
The GHMC, which has blocked the flyover, will throw it open to motorists only after the official inauguration.
Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi flyover on the JNTU-Hitec City stretch is complete but is waiting for its inauguration as all officials are busy. While the flyover lies empty, an estimated 15,000 vehicles per hour struggle to cross the stretch underneath.
The GHMC, which has blocked the flyover, will throw it open to motorists only after the official inauguration. An official said minor works were still on. Officials have tentatively set a date of March 31.
The `56-crore flyover constructed as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan, was meant to ease the traffic pressure on the road connecting Gachibowli, Kondapur, and Madhapur with Kukatpally and Miyapur.
