RaGa's disqualification: Telangana PCC decides to hold a day long protest programme
Hyderabad: In wake of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha, the PCC leadership has decided to hold a day-long protest at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of party functionaries that AICC incharge Manikrao Thakre chaired at Gandhi Bhavan. TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and senior leaders were present at the meeting which decided to intensify the campaign against the BJP government at the Centre.
Revanth Reddy informed the media that the party leaders will be staging a day-long protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside Gandhi Bhavan. Alleging that the Modi government was indulging in vendetta politics, Revanth Reddy urged the party’s rank and file to stay united in the crucial time and ensure the protest programme is a success.
“Afraid of Rahul Gandhi’s stature, particularly after his successful Bharat Jodo Uatra and dwindling support of Modi in the wake of scams, the ruling BJP is indulging in this type of measures. Following directions from AICC, we have decided to go ahead with the protest programme,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Thakre held a meeting with party leaders from Greater Hyderabad, which was attended by corporators, former corporators and senior leaders.
