Medicos in dark over fees details
VIJAYAWADA: With the NTR University of Health Sciences not placing details of college fees, examination fees, hostel fees and other particulars on the website, PG Medical applicants are having tough time during web counselling, which is going on in the two states. The details are not displayed anywhere including at the NTR University campus.
Dr Gogulamudi Srinivas cleared the certificates verification procedure on Saturday and appeared for web counseling on Sunday. He, however, was taken aback as he could not see the fee structure for medical seats in private colleges. Dr Srinivas said that if he knew how much was to be paid for a seat beforehand, it would have helped in arranging the required amount. He added that otherwise he might lose the opportunity to get a seat this academic year.
Ironically, the varsity authorities also did not know the fee structure for the upcoming academic year. Registrar of the university Ms G. Anuradha informed DC that they do not know the exact fee structure and added that the Telangana government had not given clearance to announce the fee structure of the state. Student organizations meanwhile are suspecting that the varsity authorities and the private colleges might use this gap as an opportunity to sell the seats for extra money.
This would favour private colleges to extract more money under different heads like tuition fees, material fees, hostel fees, lab fees etc., suspected Dr A. Naga Radhakrishna, co-chairman of APCC Doctors’ Cell.
