KT Rama Rao tweet moves school boy, donates Rs 50,000 to CMRF

The Class-X student had saved up his pocket money to buy a mobile phone.

Hyderabad: Inspired by a tweet by Information Technology & Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao, a schoolboy has come forward and donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

On April 23, 2018 KTR tweeted, “Through CMRF so far more than 1.2 lakh families have received assistance in emergency situations. Nearly Rs 800 Cr has been spent in the last 46 months. Those who would like to contribute can write a cheque to ‘Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Telangana State’.

Sai Vishruth Reddy, a class X student of Future Kids International School, noticed the tweet, as he keenly follows the minister on Twitter.

Soon, Vishruth sought to donate the Rs 50,000 accrued in his pocket money given by his mother. Originally, Vishruth wanted to buy a mobile phone with the accrued fund, as he’s graduating from Class X and joining his plus-two course.

He had almost zeroed in on his decision to go for the mobile phone. But he changed his mind and decided to donate the money to the CMRF, as the fund supported more than one lakh families.

“Seeing the way Ram uncle is helping people, I thought I can get the phone afterwards. But now, I wanted to give the money so that it can help a poor person who is sick and he can get better treatment. I actually didn’t know about the CMRF. I thought it was a trust by KTR to help people. But I learnt about the CMRF through uncle’s tweet’’, Vishruth said.

KTR tweeted, “Inspired by this young man Sai Vishruth Reddy, a 10 class student. When his parents gave him money to buy a smart phone, he chose to donate the same to CMRF. He handed over a cheque of '50,000 this morning to me’’.

Thanking Vishruth, the Minister has called upon people of all ages to emulate Vishruth and donate generously to the CMRF that could be of great help to the poor and deserving in their need of the hour. Those desirous of donating to the CMRF can draw their cheques and/or Demand Drafts on Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Telangana State, KTR conveyed.
