MoU signed for creating rating framework for 13 universities

MoU signed between Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE) and ICARE was exchanged in front of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

Chennai: The higher education department and Indian Centre for Academic Rankings and Excellence (ICARE) Private Limited have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to prepare rating framework for 13 state universities including Anna University and Madras University.

ICARE will prepare the rating framework at no cost. The rating framework is likely to throw more light on the current status of departments and centres in the universities.

The MoU signed between Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE) and ICARE was exchanged in front of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami. TANSCHE Vice-Chairman (incharge) and higher education secretary Sunil Paliwal and ICARE vice-chairman Karthick Sridhar have signed the MoU.

The state rating framework 2018 is likely to be released within a month.
Of 13 state universities under higher education department, nine universities have applied to the NIRF ranking framework 2018. Of this Anna University,

Bharathiar University, Madras University and Algappa University and Madurai Kamaraj University, Bharathidasan University and Periyar University were ranked among top 100.

Higher education minister K.P. Anbalagan, chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and others participated in the function.
