Students block Warangal-Hyderabad highway

The students raised slogans against the state government and the Intermediate board.

WARANGAL: Demanding that education minister Jagdish Reddy take responsibility for the Intermediate results fiasco, several Intermediate students staged a sit-in protest at Kaloji Junction on the Warangal - Hyderabad highway on Wednesday.

The students raised slogans against the state government and the Intermediate board. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) district convener Punnem Venu and Warangal city general secretary Boda Laxman blamed the state government for the suicide of the Intermediate students.

“By giving the contract of the results to an inexperienced agency, the state government has made a big mistake. A student named Navya whose results showed she got zero marks in a subject upon revaluation got 99 marks.

The state must set up a comprehensive investigation into the issue and punish those responsible for the mental harassment of the students.

“The state must immediately remove Intermediate Board secretary Ashok, they said.”

Due to the protest on the Warangal - Hyderabad highway, traffic movement was obstructed. The police asked the students to call off their protest but the students did not relent. The police arrested the students and forcibly moved them to the police stations.
