Sufi panel, seeks security for Waqf land
Hyderabad: All India Sufi Sajjada Nasheen Council conducted its governing body meeting in a three star hotel on Wednesday. Most of the participants expressed concern over depriving of their rights on the Waqf properties under the Waqf Act.
Sajjada Nasheen (abbots) complained that they were being targeted by the Waqf Board and government over the Waqf properties attached to the Dargahs. Participants asked the council to create a special cell and come forward to rescue them. They also stressed on reviving Sufi teachings and its glory.
Deewan Ajmer Shareef Hazrath Moulana Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan Sajjada Nasheen Ajmer Shareef asked the governments to remove the encroachments on Waqf properties. He stressed the Sajjada Nasheen of Dargahs should construct shopping malls on the properties attached to their institutions. “If you create assets, your impecuniosity will end forever. In Iran hermitages are not only self-reliant, but they are providing loans to the government,” he said.
