Hyderabad: With only a few months until the Assembly elections in Telangana, the BRS top leadership on Tuesday issued a call at mini-plenaries to party leaders from state to village-level to work with unity to ensure victory, while passing six resolutions highlighting the achievements of the BRS government and the failures of the BJP-led government at the Centre over the last nine years.
In the run up to the party foundation day on April 27, ministers, party MPs, MLAs and MLCs, and party workers attended constituency-level plenaries in all 119 Assembly constituencies and unfurled party flags in villages, mandals and towns.
In these meetings, more than four lakh party leaders from the village to the state level took an oath to bring the BRS to power for a third term and score a hat-trick victory by winning 100 seats by reaching out to the people and highlighting the Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government’s welfare schemes.
Party leaders said the mini-plenaries, which were held for the first time, served as a platform to sound the bugle for the elections, as well as in raising awareness about the government's schemes and initiatives among the people in the election year. During the meeting, six resolutions were moved, underlining the achievements of the BRS government and the failures of the BJP-led government at the Centre in the last nine years.

In a mini-plenary held in his home constituency of Siricilla, BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao stated that the TRS, which was founded on April 27, 2001, had transformed into the BRS on October 5, 2022, in order to expose the "Golmaal Gujarat" model and introduce the "Golden Telangana model" to the people of the country.
"The foray of BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao into national politics was a historic necessity because the country urgently needed a change in leadership and to implement the Telangana model of welfare programmes and development initiatives," he remarked.
He claimed that the overwhelming response to the CM's public meetings in Maharashtra was ample evidence that the people wanted to give KCR a "big role" in national politics in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Further, Rama Rao claimed that the party's DNA, jhanda (flag), and agenda remain unchanged despite the name change from the TRS to the BRS.
Finance minister T.Harish Rao, who attended the meetings in Siddipet and Gajwel constituencies, proposed 12 resolutions on various aspects of state development as well as the Centre's discrimination against Telangana, which were unanimously passed by the BRS leaders and activists present. Harish Rao underlined the significant achievements made by the state under KCR's leadership, such as the construction of Kaleshwaram project in a record three years, which fuelled the state's progress.
"Creating history is only possible for a few. Creating histories is not new to KCR. Today, we all are basking in the shade of the pink flag because of the hard work done by KCR," Harish Rao said. He recalled that Chandrashekar Rao made significant political sacrifices to secure Telangana's statehood, including resigning from the posts of MLA, MP, deputy Speaker, and Union minister.
