Hyderabad gets relief from heat, TS experiences rain with rough weather in store
Hyderabad: There was relief from rising heat for the city, as a cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh kept the mercury level below 40°C in Hyderabad, even as Ranga Reddy, Jangaon, Warangal, Mancherial, Peddapally and Nalgonda districts recorded rains and hailstorms.
The India Meteorological Department said that in the city the maximum and minimum temperatures would drop to around 36°C and 23°C.
The IMD issued an orange alert for three days, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorm and winds gusting to 40 kmph in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Hyderabad and Vikarabad.
On Monday, Jagtial recorded the highest rainfall in the state, at 66.8 mm, followed by Karimnagar, at 43.5 mm, and Rajanna-Sircilla, at 26.8 mm, the TS Development Planning Society said.
The maximum temperature fell from 42.4°C on Sunday to 41.9°C on Monday, at Bhadradri-Kothagudem, while the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.5°C, at Shaikpet.
