Left-out beneficiary of Swapnalok complex fire tragedy receives PM relief fund

Hyderabad: The ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister Relief Fund (PMRF) was made to the family of Kancham Triveni, one of the six victims of the fire in Swapnalok complex last month.

The five other families had received the compensation earlier. All the families, including that of Triveni, had got the Rs 5 lakh compensation paid by the state government.

Kancham Ramana, Triveni’s mother, said, “We are grateful to the state government and minister Talasani Srinivas, who kept his word. We received compensation as a result of the reports that appeared in Deccan Chronicle.”
