Reconstituted plots to be distributed to farmers in Amaravati
Amaravati: The crucial phase of new capital Amaravati will start on Saturday. The pooled farmers are unhappy over plots not being distributed to them.
The CRDA started land clearance in the proposed layout of reconstituted plots at Nelapadu on Friday. The new layout of reconstituted plots is proposed within the limits of Nelapadu village on a walkable distance. Jungle clearance was started for the distribution of reconstituted plots with peg markings.
The CRDA made all arrangements for the distribution of reconstituted plots to the pooled farmers in its office at Tullur. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will distribute the reconstituted plots to the pooled farmers of Nelapadu village in the Amaravati capital region. The plots would be allotted to the pooled farmers through lottery system and the CRDA is conducting mock lotteries for the past three days.
The Nelapadu farmers are also anxiously waiting to get their plots. Initially, the reconstituted plots would be given on the papers by the CRDA. The pooled farmers expressed their dissatisfaction over the absence of actual plots distribution by the CRDA.
Farmers, S. Venkateswara Rao and others said that Nelapadu people totally cooperated with the government and CRDA towards offering farmlands under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) towards establishment of new capital Amaravati and Nelapadu is the first village to offer lands to Amaravati.
The pooled farmers of Nelapadu said that they are waiting for the plots for the past one year and the distribution of the plots only on papers will not give total satisfaction. So, they sought distribution of plots. They expressed happiness over the proposed layout of reconstituted plots within the village limits and sought distribution of plots as early as possible.
Meanwhile, the CRDA officials informed that after the completion of land clearance, peg marks would be given to the reconstituted plots, internal/connecting roads, parks and other public utilities. The plots after development would be handed over to the pooled farmers soon.
Tullur tahsildar A. Sudhir Babu said that the lottery process for plots would be conducted on the premises of CRDA offices in the presence of the pooled farmers. He added that elaborate arrangements like waterproof tents were installed for the plots distribution.
