Land-grab: 3 TD men summoned
Visakhapatnam: The PM Palem police has issued notice to three TD leaders and summoned them to the police station to inquire into the alleged land grab.
Madhuravada residents alleged that local TD leader Golagani Sanyasi Rao had grabbed 2.79 acres of government land under Survey No 159/3 and tried to build a house there.
The police also issued notices to G. Narasimha Murthy and K. Appalaswamy who were also allegedly involved in land grab.
Speaking to this correspondent, Inspector of PM Palem K. Lakshmana Murthy said based on complaints and allegations, the police were verifying the land records and matching with the records available in the revenue office.
“So far we didn’t arrest anyone in this record and will nab if it is proved that the trio had grabbed the government land,” the inspector added.
It may be recalled that based on the complaint from tahsildar of Anandapuram, the cops have registered land grabbing case against Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana and his family members.
Sources in Telugu Desam said some leaders, including MLAs, have decided to take the land case issue and probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the notice of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who will come to Vizag city on July 26 to address a public meeting and distribute pattas.
The Telugu Desam leaders said the SIT officials did not give any chance to Peela to express his version in the case and the cops have filed a case against him.
The sources also said some TD leaders of Vizag has gone to Vijayawada to meet Naidu in this regard.
MLA Peela approached city police chief T. Yoganand and told that SIT members did not give him a chance to produce documents supporting his claim over the land.
