Green channel helps transport live lungs
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad and Cyberabad traffic police arranged a green channel to facilitate the transport of donated lungs from the Shamshabad airport to the KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad. With the police regulating general traffic and clearing the road, the ambulance covered the 35.3 km distance in 25 minutes. The ambulance took the PVNR Expressway and went via Mehdipatnam, Lakdikapul, Old PS Saifabad, Iqbal Minar, Tank Bund and Ranigunj.
The Hyderabad traffic police said they had created green channels to facilitate organ transport 12 times this year. The KIMS Hospital management thanked the Hyderabad and Cyberabad traffic police for the speedy transport of the live lungs.
