Student Argues With Teacher Holding Machete
BENGALURU: A student entered into an argument with his lecturer inside the classroom at a diploma college in B.G. Nagar of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya and the incident is said to have occurred on August 19 while a video of the student with a long machete went viral on Friday.
The student holding a machete to argue with the lecturer took place in presence of his classmates who stood mute spectators. Some in the group managed to record the incident on their mobile phones before it was circulated.
It is said that Uday Gowda (18) a resident of Avaregere village in Nagamangala was absent for the past few days and the lecturer Chandan brought the matter to the notice of Uday’s parents. When Uday came to know that the lecturer had complained to his parents, he in a fit of rage entered the classroom with a machete (long) and held an argument with him.
In the video circulated on social networking sites, Uday was heard arguing with his lecturer. Uday questioned the lecturer “Why did you tell my parents I am not attending the classes?” and his other question was “Didn’t you send me out of the class?” and in reply Chandan said “Yes, It was I who sent you out of the class.” Uday said “Then, Why did you complain to my parents?”
After the incident, Chandan lodged a complaint with Bellur police. Police warned Uday over his behaviour and Uday who came to the police station with his parents and assured that he would not repeat such acts in future. The lecturer withdrew his complaint.
