Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Vijay, popularly known as Duniya Vijay, who was accused of assault by his daughter Monica on Monday, visited the Girinagar police station on Wednesday following a summons from the police to record his statement.
The complainant, Monica, Vijay’s daughter from his first wife Nagarathna, too visited the station to record her statement along with her mother.
On Monday, Monica had filed a complaint with the Girinagar police accusing her father of assaulting her when she had gone to his house in Hosakerehalli where he lives with his second wife Keerthi Pattadi.
While Monica reiterated the statement before the police, Vijay who had come with his friends Hemanth and Vinod and his car driver Mohammad, the other three whom Monica had accused of assaulting her, said they did not assault Monica and in fact, she damaged the main door which was locked.
“As we saw her coming, I asked my friend to lock the door so she could not enter the house. This I did because last month, she had come to the house and created ruckus. Monica tried to break open the door lock and even damaged the door,” Vijay told police in his statement.
Monica and Nagarathna denied Vijay’s statement and alleged that Vijay along with his friends assaulted her and banged her head against a wall. Keerthi Pattadi, however, did not accompany Vijay to the police station.
The police are further investigating the case.
