Outsiders' face OU passage ban
Hyderabad: Osmania University will soon bar outsiders from entering campus and act against land sharks who encroached land, said officials.
The road, which allows commuters to pass through the campus, will be closed to outsiders as soon as the new 1.2-km link road, which is being constructed from OU NCC gate junction to Adikmet, is completed in the next three months.
“No Thoroughfare” board will be put on the gates of this university, the official said.
Sources said there are nine encroachments in the campus, which will be vacated after the elections.
Osmania University, which is the seventh oldest educational institution established in 1918, is spread across 1,600 acres of waste land.
The university administration is waiting for the elections to be over. There are some cases filed by encroachers using forged documents, which the police are investigating.
