BJP secy's threat against Yathishdc correspondent
Thrissur: BJP general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan has threatened that City Police Commissioner Yathish Chandra, who is now on duty at Nilakkal, will not be allowed to set foot in Thrissur again after his Sabarimala assignment.
He was addressing a protest march against the commissioner for his alleged rude behaviour towards Union Minister of State for Shipping and Finance Pon Radhakrishnan the other day. He said that top police officers with a track record of courting controversies and showing brutality during public agitations were put on duty at Sabarimala by the chief minister’s office.
“There will also be stringent action against Hari Sankar, who is the son of Travancore Devaswom Board member Shankar Das, for twice blocking the pilot vehicle of Pon Radhakrishnan while he was returning from Sabarimala at midnight. BJP leaders travelling in my car were blocked perhaps to trouble me,” he said.
“The state government could not fix special days for women’s entry in the hilly shrine like they change the timings of bar and toddy shops in Kerala,” he said.
Officials at the commissioner’s office said said that cases were slapped against Mr Radhakrish-nan, BJP district president A. Nagesh and BJP councillors along with nearly 40 activists of Mahila Morcha for unlawful assembly, disturbing public order and rioting.
