Hyderabad: Founder-president of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS), Mr Manda Krishna Madiga, on Saturday extended his support to the People's Front (formerly known as Mahakutami) led by the Congress.
Mr Manda Krishna on Saturday met leaders of the Front and requested them to include a few issues relating to MRPS, including SC categorisation and representation of SCs in the Legislative Council, in the manifestoes of both the Front as well as its allies.
Mr Manda Krishna said that following a discussion with TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the latter requested the allies of the front to consider his demands. He said that in the Lok Sabha, there was no representation of Madigas, and if provided opportunity, they would raise their voice in the Lower House. He assured full support of Madiga community to Front.
CPI leader Palla Venkata Reddy extended support to the demands. Telangana TD chief L. Ramana said injustice was done to the MRPS in the combined state and his party would support SC categorisation.
Telangana Jana Samithi President Kodandaram said their party would extend support not only to the SC categorisation, but also to other demands. He said that regarding the representation of Madiga community in the legislative council, they would take a decision after discussing the same with the Congress.
