Telangana household survey enters Limca book of records
Hyderabad: An intensive household survey conducted by the Telangana government in August 2014 has entered into the Limca Book of Records.
The massive exercise had involved as many as 4 lakh government employees who covered over 1.09 crore households in a single day, between 7 am and 8 pm, an official release stated on Thursday.
The survey, to gather information on households, educational qualifications of their members, their post office savings, bank account details, mobile phone numbers, Aadhaar card numbers and gas connection details, was ordered immediately after K Chandrasekhar Rao took charge of the youngest state in 2014.
The CM had earlier said the data collected in the survey would be used to identify the real beneficiaries of the government welfare schemes.
Ahead of the survey, allegations were raised in some quarters that the exercise has been planned with a view to identifying Seemandhra natives, which were rubbished by the CM.
