Ooty: The Centre for Consumer, Human resource and Environment Protection (CCHEP) here in the hills appealed for speedy action to issue smart cards to family card seekers in the Nilgiris.
Mr. S. Sivasubramaniam, president of the CCHEP, stated that in recent times, officials concerned had asked for Aadhaar and other necessary details to apply online for new family cards. Though most new family card seekers had completed the formalities and had been assured that the smart cards would be issued to them in two months, nothing had happened even after six months, he noted.
