BRS has no answer to my questions on water, funds, jobs: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that BRS leaders had failed to provide answers to his questions about water, funds, jobs and the number of houses constructed by the state government.
Addressing media persons at Suryapet on Sunday, Bhatti said the objective of statehood was to transform people’s lives. But even a decade later the expectations remain unfulfilled. “But BRS leaders have become unbelievably wealthy in the same period,” Bhatti said.
Bhatti had posed a direct questions to minister G. Jagadish Reddy and Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy who belong to Nalgonda district on how many 2BHK houses had been allotted and the status of jobs given.
“They are trying to take credit for the water released from the SRSP to the Kakatiya Canal. This. without providing water for one additional acre. I will be in Suryapet district for some more days and the BRS leaders can still answer me and provide clarity,” he said.
He said it was the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy who constructed the Sripada Yellampally project to impound Godavari water and took it to the Lower Manair Dam and then to the Kakatiya Canal.
The CLP leader said Jagadish Reddy could not even complete the Yadadri power project in his own district, he said.
“The contribution of the BRS government is in increasing the belt shops in every village,” Bhatti said. He said the BRS was trying to take the people for a ride by organising the statehood anniversary celebrations and canal festivals without providing water.
The NREGA work for 100 days, Aarogyasri cards, constructing houses to 5,000 poor people in Suryapet were all done by the Congress government, the CLP leader said.
Referring to the woes of farmers owing to the Dharani portal for agricultural land records, Bhatti said thousands of farmers were losing land under their cultivation for decades due to the site.
In many villages, farmers were being pressured to sell lands at lower prices. If they do not agree, their lands are being entered into the ‘Prohibited records’ list to harass them. The KCR and his party are running the largest land mafia in the State. Former chief secretary Somesh Kumar conceptualised Dharani to snatch lands of farmers and KCR has been enforcing it, Bhatti said.
