Loud music banned for 15 days in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The police commissioner has issued a notification banning loud music and high volume sound systems in the city during the next 15 days to check noise pollution.
The police said that loud noise has not only made things difficult for the public but for the department too. The loud sound is neutralising police communication systems, the order said. In many sensitive areas noise levels have touched 20 decibels above normal due to traffic, loud speakers and crackers.
With this in mind the police has decided to take stringent action against DJ systems that operate in public spaces.
As per the Rule 8 of Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules 2000, police commissioner M. Mahendar has banned the use of sound systems and bursting of crackers in public places or roads. The ban will be in effect from 6 am on July 27 to 6 am on August 10.
The public will now have to take special permission from the Divisional assistant commissioners of police.
Those violating the order will be charged under 67(c), 188 of IPC and u/s 76 of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli.
