BJP padayatra in Vokkaliga bastion

Once the padayatra reaches Bengaluru on July 28, BJP state President B.S.Yeddyurappa will address the farmers, said party sources.

Bengaluru: Using the time-tested political weapon of Janata Dal (S) supremo, H.D. Deve Gowda, who used to take out padayatras in his heyday to embarrass the party in power, former minister C.P. Yogeshwar of the BJP, who was defeated by CM H.D. Kumaraswamy in Channapatna in the recent Assembly polls, ,is planning to take out a padayatra from Channapatna to Bengaluru. He and other BJP leaders want to highlight the failures of the new government when it comes to protecting the interests of farmers.

The BJP has organized the three-day padayatra from Ramanagara to Bengaluru on Thursday to demand that the state government completely waive off all farm loans. BJP Raitha Morcha president Laxman Savadi, BJP members in the Legislative Council, Tejaswini Gowda and N. Ravikumar besides Mr Yogeshwar will attend the padayatra. More than 3,000 farmers will take part.

Once the padayatra reaches Bengaluru on July 28, BJP state President B.S.Yeddyurappa will address the farmers, said party sources.
