Hyderabad: Unable to pay fee, boy ends life
Hyderabad: A 13-year-old student studying in the seventh standard at Little Flower High School, Kavadiguda, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence.
The cause is alleged to be the school authorities turning him away for not paying his fees, though the school has a different story.
According to the police, the boy, M. Mahesh, lives with his parents at Padmashali colony in Musheerabad.
“The child’s father, M. Srinivas, is alleging that his son committed suicide due to harassment by the school management, saying that he didn’t come to the school since two days. We are checking the CCTV footage. The investigation is going on,” said Inspector T. Srinath Reddy, of the Musheerabad police.
“I went to the school to collect the keys of my house from my son. But I came to know that he had left the school in the morning itself. I went to the house and found
my son sitting in the house. On enquiry, he told me that the headmistress had sent him away because we had not paid the school fees,” the father alleged.
He added that another teacher said that the boy did not turn up at the school.
Mr Srinivas went to his office after getting a call from a colleague. Half-an-hour later, he returned home and found the door latched from inside.
“I peeped from the window and found that Mahesh had hung himself from the ceiling with a saree. I broke open the door and rushed the child to Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him dead,” the distraught father said.
A tearful M. Nagamani, mother of Mahesh, narrated the tough time the family had to send their two children to school,
The headmistress and class teacher of the school have a different story to tell.
They say Mahesh had not been to school for two days.
The Musheerabad police have registered a case under section 174 CrPC and have started investigation.

So we made both our children appear for the Telanagana Gurukul Common entrance exam. My daughter got a seat and we sent her to a hostel. Recently, with lot of difficulty, we bought notebooks for my son and they did this to my son.”
