Time you changed: Farmers to Karnataka CM

Mr Patil also said though many parts of Hyderabad Karnataka region were facing a drought like situation in view of the failure of rains.

Raichur: Taking strong exception to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s “irresponsible” statement on the farm loan waiver issue and also on the demand for statehood for North Karnataka, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha honorary president Chamarasa Patil has warned him that a strong agitation would be launched against him if he persisted with this attitude.

Addressing the media here, Mr Patil criticised the CM for questioning their agitation on the national highway near Hosapete town on July 21 demanding waiver of farm loans. The CM had asked what moral authority the farmers had to demand loan waiver when they had voted on “caste lines” in the previous assembly election.

“This statement does not befit the position he occupies. Mr Kumaraswamy had promised to waive off loans within 24 hours of taking charge. But he has failed to walk the talk. What moral right does he have to continue in the CM chair?”, he asked adding even in the matter of allocation of funds for Hyderabad-Karnataka, Mr Kumaraswamy had shown a partisan attitude which was highly condemnable.

Mr Patil also said though many parts of Hyderabad Karnataka region were facing a drought like situation in view of the failure of rains, the government had failed to initiate measures to alleviate the suffering of people.
