BJP Leader Suspended for Anti-Party Activities

Hyderabad: The Telangana state BJP suspended Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, a leader from Yadadri Bhongir district on Wednesday for anti-party activities. He openly criticised the national BJP leadership for removing Bandi Sanjay Kumar as party president.

During a press meet on Tuesday, Balakrishna Reddy said he felt disconnected with the BJP after Bandi's removal. He had initially merged his Yuva Telangana Party with the BJP last year in the hope the party could actively work towards realising the aspirations that had driven the Telangana statehood movement. However, he now believes that the party has strayed from its original goals.

The BJP issued immediate suspension orders giving him one week to explain his actions which were deemed as being in violation of the party's policies and principles.

Meanwhile, there are reports indicating that Balakrishna Reddy has decided to join the Congress.
