Karnataka Chief Secretary kin never sold their land in Devanahalli!

Except for Survey number 78, Jadhav's mother still owns three other plots.

Bengaluru: A day after Deccan Chronicle ran an expose on Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav that revealed his direct interference in the land grab case where he is caught pulling up BMC officials for not doing his work, another claim has been discovered as being nothing but fiction.

Deccan Chronicle has in its possession incriminating documents that show that Jadhav's mother Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav still holds 16 acres of land in boomtown Devanahalli with the survey numbers - 76 A, 77, 80 and 81 in Hegganahalli in Kundana hobli of Devanahalli. Jadhav in a release to the media on Tuesday had stated that his mother sold lands in Hegganahalli with survey numbers 77, 78, 80 and 81.

Except for Survey number 78, Jadhav's mother still owns three other plots. Another damaging fact that has come to light after investigations by this newspaper is that she also owns another piece of land under Survey no 76 A measuring 3 acres and 7 guntas.

Documents show that Form no 16 or RTC, as it is referred to, as accessed by DC clearly shows the ownership as well as the cultivation details in Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav's name. Further more the land has been converted for commercial purpose in 1996 from agriculture.

Sources said that Mr. Jadhav's statement to the media is the exact report he has given to Chief Minister on Tuesday. "Not only has he not been honest with the media, he has also tried to fool the Chief Minister by providing false information on land transactions. It is not agricultural land as the legal status of the land was changed 20 years ago, so how can he claim that his mother sold agricultural land in Devanahalli to buy land in Anekal?'' the high level source questioned. Sources also said that it needs to be investigated whether a layout or a commercial establishment has come up on this 16 acres of plot which is easily worth over Rs 160 crore as the conservative selling price is over Rs 10 crore in that area!

Jadhav's mother a realtor! Documents accessed by Deccan Chronicle reveal that his mother Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav is a real estate developer which runs contrary to the claim made by Jadhav that Mrs Jadhav is an agriculturist.

Land in Hegganahalli in Tarabai's name
Jadhav's mother Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav still holds 16 acres of land in boomtown Devanahalli with the survey numbers - 76 A, 77, 80 and 81 in Hegganahalli in Kundana hobli of Devnahalli. Jadhav in a release to the media on Tuesday had stated that his mother sold lands in Hegganahalli with survey numbers 77, 78, 80 and 81.

Mother could lose property in Anekal
The claimants of the now disputed land in Ramanayakanahalli Anekal taluk, among whom is Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav's mother Tarabhai Marutirao Jadhav, may lose claim on the land as the grant of the said government land to private parties violates the Karnataka Land Revenue (KLR) Act of 1964 and could hence amount to encroachment.

Tarabai a realtor!
More damaging details are emerging against Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav who is in trouble over an alleged land grab in Anekal and costing the state exchequer to suffer losses.

Documents accessed by Deccan Chronicle reveal that his mother Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav is a real estate developer which runs contrary to the claim made by Jadhav that Mrs Jadhav is an agriculturist.

File No.BMRDA/LAO/29/97-98 at the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) shows Mrs Tarabai Jadhav applied for a residential layout approval in 1997 when the Bengaluru International Airport Area Planning Authority (BIAAPA), a new authority was being constituted to regulate development around Devanahalli taluk.

The documents reveal that she owned 16 acres of land under Survey no. 76A, 77A, 80 & 81 in Hegganahalli in Kundana hobli of Devanahalli.

Arvind Jadhav disclosed on Tuesday that his mother had sold lands in survey no. 77, 78, 80, 81 in Hegganahalli which means that she still owns lands in two other survey numbers 76 A and 77 A in Devanahalli. Also, records show her as resident of Hegganahalli village.

Sources said that Mr. Jadhav was still in Karnataka at the time of purchase and went to Curtin University Graduate School of Business in Perth, Australia on study leave in 1998. "He was well aware of the real estate boom that Devanahalli would see as the new international airport was proposed there, so his family purchased the land and applied for layout approval. We are talking about a good 19 year old story when Bengaluru was just opening its eyes to IT and real estate boom,’’ sources said, adding that while there was nothing wrong in making such an investment, it was wrong on the senior official's part to say he was not in the city when the purchase was made.
