HYDERABAD: In view of the large number of devotees visiting the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh, Hyderabad traffic police on Monday advised commuters to avoid the routes from VV statue to Shadan College and Nirankari Junction, and VV statue to Necklace Rotary from 3 pm to 10 pm on Thursday. Police said congestion was expected in the roads leading to the Bada Ganesh in a two-km radius. Congestion is also expected at Old PS Saifabad, Hotel Ayodhya, Iqbal Minar, Telugu Talli Junction, NTR Marg and PVNR Marg.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad police imposed traffic restrictions from Tuesday to Friday to make way for Ganesha idol immersion processions.
IDL Tank: Road from Rainbow Vista T-Junction is closed for general traffic. Traffic from Kukatpally Y Junction to Hitec City and Madhapur will be diverted towards JNTU, Forum Mall road. Traffic from Hitec City, Madhapur to Kukatpally Y junction via Kaithalapur will be diverted towards Rainbow Cista, Moosapet road.
Hasmathpet tank, Alwal: Vehicles with idols from Bowenpally and other colonies of Secunderabad to enter via Anjaiahnagar. Empty vehicles to exit towards Old Bowenpally, Mosque Road and Harijan basti.
Kattamaisamma tank, Suraram: Vehicles from Balanagar and Jeedimetla towards Bahadurpally, Bachupally and Gandimaisamma junction will be diverted at Suraram village near sub-registrar office, Bowrampet, Gandimaisamma. Vehicles from Gandimaisamma, Bachupally proceeding towards Jeedimetla, Balanagar will be diverted at Bahadurpally Junction, Dulapally village T junction, Industrial Area Local Authority (IALA), Jeedimetla.
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed between Balanagar and Fathenagar bridge, from Godrej to Erragadda, Ferozguda to Godrej Y Junction, Kukatpally Gudenmet to Narsapur crossroads.
Vehicles coming from Ashoknagar, Beeramguda are to be diverted towards Bachupally, Gandimaisamma and ORR and vehicles coming from Sangareddy towards Kukatpally will be diverted onto ORR.
Heavy vehicles and buses from BHEL, Chandanagar and Miyapur towards Ameerpet will be diverted at Miyapur crossroads, to proceed towards Bachupally, Bowarmpet and Gandimaisamma to take a left turn towards ORR.
Goods vehicles coming from Gachibowli and Patencheru towards Aramghar and Attapur must not use Exit No. 17 (Himayatsagar) and Exit No.16 (Shamshabad).
