Nirmal: Minister for forest and environment Jogu Ramanna on Saturday said the state government was committed to the welfare of the journalists. He said that Telangana was the only state which created Rs 100 crore fund for journalist's welfare in the state and added that Rs 30 crore was already released. He was speaking at the inaugural of orientation and training classes for journalists organised by Telangana State Press Academy in Nirmal on Saturday.
The minister said the state government is extending all help including health cards, financial help to the families of deceased journalists and promised to try his best to sanction double bedrooms to the journalist families. Telangana State Press Academy chairman and Telangana Union of Working journalists state president Allam Narayana said that government was providing facilities to journalists in 13 corporate hospitals under health insurance scheme and had extended Rs 1 lakh aid to families of deceased journalists. MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, Nirmal municipality chairman Appala Ganesh Chakravarthy spoke on the occasion. Senior journalists Tankashala Ashok and Mallesh gave lectures on different subjects related to journalism.
