Vyapam scam: 30 get jail for 7 years
The scam had hogged limelight when 45 people, involved in it, died during the probe.
Bhopal: A CBI court here on Monday sentenced a key accused in infamous Vyapam scam, involving irregularities in admissions in various medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, and recruitments in class three and class four jobs in the state government, to ten years in prison.
CBI special court judge S.B. Sahu sentenced the alleged middleman in the scam, Pradeep Tyagi (29), to ten years in prison for his involvement in fixing the recruitment tests for constable posts conducted in 2013. The court also sentenced 30 others involved in the same case to seven years in prison each. The court convicted them on November 21 and pronounced quantum of punishment on Monday.
