N Chandrababu Naidu tells officials to end beggary
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said beggars should not exist in the state and directed the officials to come up with a plan to eliminate beggary. Discussing the developments of municipal administration department in collectors’ conference, he told the officials to devise effective welfare measures for beggars. Mr Naidu told the officials to take up multi-pronged approach to eliminate urban poverty.
He also told the officials to work out a plan to keep stray animals in shelters. Tourism officials have unveiled their plans to attract more tourists to the state. Principal secretary for tourism Mukesh Kumar Meena said that ten 5-star hotels are going to come up in the state, out of which seven are already underway.
The CK Convention Centre would be made available by August, which will become the biggest hall in the state. The Tourism department has planned 25 mega events for 76 days for 2017-18. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set a target of bringing 69.72 lakh acres into cultivation by providing irrigation water. He told the officials that inter-linking of rivers and judicious use of water is going to be the key to achieve the target. He also directed the officials to focus on improving ground water levels.
