More Cabinet berths for MLAs from N-K region: Dinesh Gundurao
Hubballi: KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao said that more importance will be given to the legislators of North Karnataka while filling the six vacant posts due to the Congress in the state Cabinet.
Addressing the media in Belagavi after monitoring the preparations of the party for the local body elections on Sunday, he said that ministers would be continued or changed based on an evaluation of their efficiency after two years. Asserting that BJP MPs from the region have failed to provide justice to the people and are using them as a vote bank, he said Congress parliamentarians from the region had managed to ensure special status and benefits of Article 371(J) during the tenure of the previous UPA government to overcome backwardness.
Slamming the Opposition, Mr Gundurao said BJP leaders are unable to digest the fact they are out of power and are issuing statements that the coalition government would be short-lived. “The promises made by PM Modi before the elections have not been fulfilled. The BJP has failed in creating jobsand did not appoint the Lokpal. Atrocities against women, dalits and the oppressed class have increased,” he said.
