The kingpin, K. Venkataramana, who was also caught by the police, said that he was paying Rs 19,000 per month as rent for the double bed room house.
The task force handed the accused to the Punjagutta police station. Meanwhile, the police is clueless on how to deal with the houseowner who rented out the building.
Such premises are sealed by the police with the help of the revenue department. The revenue divisional officer or the tahsildar issues the order based on the police report. Mr S. Ravindar, inspector of the Punjagutta police station, said that they will seek an explanation from the houseowner. “If the explanation is not satisfactory, then we will proceed further,” he said.
The task force also raided two other premises at Himayatnagar and Jubilee Hills on Saturday. While the Hyderabad police issued no clear instructions to curb the menace, their counterparts in Rachakonda and Cyber-abad are sealing the apartments where gambling is reported.
V. Satyanarayana, deputy commissioner of police, east, said, “Gambling differs from case to case. If needed, we will seal the premises.
