N Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to talk on SCS: Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy

Naidu trying to divert attention of public, says Jagan.

GUNTUR: YSR Congress president and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his tirade against the Telugu Desam during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Sattenpalli on Tuesday in Guntur district. Addressing a public meeting, he alleged that CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has made every effort to play down the special category status to the state during the last four years. Mr Naidu has no moral right to call for an all-party meeting on the same now, Mr Reddy said. “Mr Naidu can never be trusted as he will change his colours to conceal his failures. Now, he has taken up SCS slogan just to divert public attention from the corruption the TD government is involved in the state.”

Mr Reddy alleged that corruption is rampant in the TD government and so Mr Naidu is now raising his voice against the BJP on SCS to divert the attention of the public from it. He alleged that Mr Naidu called an all-party meeting to hijack SCS issue. The YSRC chief said their party leaders held dharnas, protests, and awareness programmes on SCS. “The TD government had made every effort to prevent the YSRC leaders from staging protests on SCS sand so Mr Naidu has no moral right to call for an all-party meeting. The only option left for him is to follow the YSRC’s path.”

Mr Naidu should ask all his MPs to quit the Parliament by the end of this session, along with YSRC MPs, and the en masse resignations of 25 MPs would create a situation where the Centre has to yield to our demand, Mr Reddy suggested. “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was due to arrive, Mr Naidu had ordered to foil my indefinite fast by arresting me. Today, he is raising the same issue and even called for an all-party meeting. There were attempts to foil all the protests and bandh calls and students were threatened with dire consequences if they attended Yuva Bheri programmes aimed at creating awareness on the SCS among the youth'.
