BRS plenary to focus on Mission 100' poll strategy for party leaders

Hyderabad: The first plenary of the BRS, being held in Hyderabad on April 27, will focus on the roadmap for the Assembly polls scheduled for December 2023 as well as the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 2024.

Party sources said that the plenary will be held under the theme of ‘Mission 100’ for both the polls. It will devise a roadmap to secure hat-trick victory in the Assembly polls with a target to win 100 seats as well as identifying 100 Lok Sabha seats in various states from where the BRS could contest on its own.

The BRS manifestoes for the polls will be devised by taking feedback from the 3,000-odd party delegates attending the plenary.

With just about a month left for the plenary, party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and BRS working president and minister K.T.Rama Rao have exhorted the party leaders and cadre to make the event a grand success.

As a prelude to plenary, the CM hda asked the party leaders to hold 'Atmeeya Sammelanams' with the party workers in all Assembly constituencies covering every mandal and village in phased-manner. The aim is to improve rapport between grass-root workers and state-level leaders and resolve group politics and infighting.

Both the CM and Rama Rao are reviewing the progress of ‘Atmeeya Sammelanams’ which started in the second week of March.

Rama Rao is holding weekly teleconferences with the party leaders in every constituency. With reports of ‘Atmeeya Sammelanams’ yielding desired results and uniting party leaders and cadre, Rama Rao on Tuesday asked the party leaders to continue holding them till May-end as against the original deadline of April 25.

The plenary is expected to lay special focus on identifying Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and so on from where the BRS could contest on its own in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

In the 2014 Assembly elections, the BRS (then TRS) won 63 of the 119 Assembly seats and formed the first government in Telangana state. In 2018, it retained power by increasing its tally to 88.
