Kozhikode: All that you wanted to know about the Kerala Assembly elections are now available at your finger tips. Two youngsters from Kozhikode have developed an election analysis mobile application named ‘Polling Booth’ which helps the large number of Android users to analyse the current political situation in the state and make it easy for the voters to evaluate their leaders and their respective political parties.
The app developed by techies M.T. Shamnas and M.K. Haseem, founders of ‘Bodhi Info Solutions Pvt Ltd,’ -- a small-scale IT company in the district--was launched in Google Playstore a week ago and has already hit over 11,000 downloads.
“Whom will you nominate as candidate, which political alliance can contribute more to Kerala’s IT sector development and which topic should be discussed in this election are among the few questions that we have charted in the app for the public to know the political situation and judge accordingly,” said Shamnas. “We have featured all the poll details, the history of elections in Kerala, candidates’ details, opinion polls and news and will also update the results of the election,” he added.
“This was not an easy task as Kerala politics is a large area to cover. Hence, it required lots of research and effort by our group to bring out the application. The constituency-wise history of the Assembly elections conducted during the last 58 years in the state has also been featured in the app,” Shamnas pointed out.
