BIRRD to host three-day orthopaedic doctors' summit

TIRUPATI: The Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) hospital, managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), is all set to organise a prestigious orthopaedic doctors’ summit titled "Operative Orthoplasty." Scheduled to take place from June 30 to July 2, the event aims to showcase the remarkable advancements in technology and medical equipment at BIRRD hospital over the past four years.

Dr Reddappa Reddy, the OSD of BIRRD, revealed that more than 200 renowned orthopaedic surgeons from across India are expected to participate in the summit. The inauguration of the three-day event will be held on June 30 at the Fortune Grand Ridge Hotel, officiated by the TTD executive officer, A.V. Dharma Reddy.

Dr Reddy emphasised the inclusion of state-of-the-art facilities such as CT scans, X-ray machines, blood banks, and online treatment services based on SMS. These advanced amenities, comparable to those found in corporate hospitals, are designed to provide affordable and easily accessible healthcare services to patients.

The summit will revolve around live surgeries conducted by the top 20 orthopaedic experts, serving as a platform to showcase the cutting-edge technology and medical equipment available at BIRRD hospital. Already, nearly 200 orthopaedic specialists have registered to witness these live procedures. To accommodate more participants, the hospital trust has even facilitated on-spot registration.
