Hotel Worker Dies in a Road Mishap on PVNR Express Highway
Hyderabad: A 22-year-old hotel worker succumbed to his injuries while his pillion rider suffered critical injuries after the biker lost the control due to heavy rains and rammed into a median near pillar number -152 on PVNR, Rajendranagar.
The accident occurred around 11.30 am on Thursday when the victim Syed Ayan along with his coworker Mairaj were heading from Aramgharh towards Mehdipatnam, Ayan who was riding the bike couldn’t see clearly due to heavy rains and rammed into the median due to which he died on the spot while Mairaj who suffered critical injuries is being treated in a private hospital, N Ramesh, sub inspector of Rajendranagar police who is Investigation Officer (IO) in the case, said.
Ayan, suffered a serious head injury after his bike hit a pot placed on the median. Ayan, a resident of Khatedan, was in a hurry, wanted to reach for work and entered the PVNR Express highway, police said.
Following the accident there was a heavy traffic jam on the PVNR Express highway, the traffic cops rushed to the scene and took control over the situation.
Rajandranagar police registered a case of suspicious death under section rash and negligent driving and 174 CrPC, and shifted the victim's body to Osmania General hospital for postmortem.
It may be recalled that on May 15, a 21-year-old techie Venkata Surya Charan, who was riding a motorcycle died of a cardiac arrest when his bike skidded on the PVNR Expressway, after losing his way in the wee hours of May 15. Following the incident two-wheelers were barred on the expressway.
Charan, had set out with six of his friends, all techies on three bikes being new to the city they were tracking their routes using Google Maps.
Charan along with his friends from Tank Bund had headed towards Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge. As they neared Mehdipatnam, Charan entered the Express Highway and began riding towards Mehdipatnam, police said.
When he was near Pillar 84 of the expressway, the bike skidded and he fell on the road. A car driver alerted police, Charan was shifted to NIMS, where he succumbed while undergoing treatment. Doctors said that Charan had not suffered any serious injuries but had died of cardiac arrest. Charan had joined an MNC, shifted to the city from Krishna district and was living in a rented house in Pocharam, Ghatkesar, police said.
