Rahul Gandhi seeks Nitin Gadkari help in repairing broken roads
Thiruvananthapuram: Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has shot off a letter to Union surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari seeking his intervention in reconstructing the roads in his constituency.
Mr Gandhi who is in Wayanad on a four-day visit released the letter to the media before he reached his constituency. He has informed the Union minister that Wayanad is one of the worst affected areas which have seen landslides, road caving and other mishaps have caused extensive damage to NH 766.
He urged Mr Gadkari to accord highest priority for the restoration of the damaged roads for ensuring early recovery.
Mr Gandhi has also given a detailed statistics to prove that all areas in Wayanad have been damaged, and the constituency was the victim of landslides, flooding, road failure and collapse of retaining walls. The roads remain pot holed, drainage has been affected, Mr Gandhi has written to the Union minister. The roads in the section had suffered serious damages in the floods last year, too.
