Kamal Nath Promises 11 guarantees if Congress Voted to Power in MP

Bhopal, Aug 27: Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath on Sunday pledged eleven poll guarantees of his party ahead of the ensuing assembly elections in the state, due in November this year.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mr Nath announced to provide a monthly incentive of Rs 1,500 to women, an LPG cylinder at Rs 500, free electricity up to 100 units, and restoration of the old pension scheme for the state government employees, if Congress returned to power in the state in the year-end assembly elections.

He also promised to ensure a 27 percent quota in educational institutions and government jobs for the other backward class (OBC) people, write off crop loans of farmers, free electricity to farmers for five horsepower pumps for irrigation, assure electricity supply for 12 hours for irrigation, and withdraw cases filed against farmers during the farmers' stir in the state.

Mr Nath said that Congress if it forms government in the state in the forthcoming assembly elections, would conduct a caste census in Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, reacting to the sops announced by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for women, Mr Nath said that they were all 'hollow' election pledges.

He said that the chief minister should explain why he could not implement all these promises earlier during his 18-year rule in the state.
