New drop, pick-up points at Kempegowda International Airport

The motorists are requested to drive on marked routes to and from the terminal.

Bengaluru: The Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) authorities on Tuesday announced new traffic arrangements for vehicles coming to drop and pick up passengers at the Kempegowda International Airport, with immediate effect.

In an effort to streamline traffic and facilitate smooth movement, BIAL implemented a lateral segregation of the departure and arrival zones at the terminal by introducing two separate routes for vehicles drop-offs and pick-ups. The two routes designed to achieve this segregation of traffic will avoid traffic bottlenecks within the airport and motorists are requested to adhere to the designated routes, while dropping off and picking up passengers. This new route is only for cabs and self-driven cars.

Appropriate signage has been installed at various vantage points to re-direct passengers to the new routes. Additional staff have been deployed to assist passengers. The motorists are requested to drive on marked routes to and from the terminal. Strict adherence will help KIAB in providing a smooth experience to users.

Diversions: Changes to the new routes are aligned with the departure and arrival gates for ease of movement. The following instructions will help passengers in traversing seamlessly at the kerb.

Vehicle drop off: The route for passenger drop off remains unchanged. Vehicles coming from the city will take the usual left at the Main Access Road (MAR) towards the terminal building. Follow the way finding signage to exit the airport.
Vehicle pick up: People coming to receive passengers and heading towards the arrival lounge need to continue straight instead of turning left at the Main Access Road. Vehicles will be required to drive past the parking lot and take a left after the traffic signal to reach arrival gates 11-13. Post pick up, all motorists are requested to follow the way finding signage to exit the airport.
