Valmiki\'s teachings impact generations: Nandyal MP
Kurnool: Nandyal MP P. Brahmananda Reddy spoke on the importance of learning from Maharshi Valmiki's teachings at a Valmiki Jayanti event in Nandyal town on Saturday.
Along with MLC Issac Basha, Municipal chairman Mabunnisa, and DRO Pullaiah, Reddy garlanded the Valmiki statue at the RTC bus stand.
Valmiki, the author of the famous Ramayana, taught valuable lessons about humanity through his epic work, leaving a lasting impact on generations.
Basha talked about Valmiki's journey from being an uneducated person to a celebrated writer, encouraging everyone to be inspired by his life.
At a separate event in Kurnool city, Kurnool MP Dr S. Sanjiv Kumar discussed the fearless spirit of the Boya caste, equating it to the qualities of a Kshatriya. He stressed the importance of nurturing these qualities in children.
City Mayor B.Y. Ramaiah spoke about Valmiki's teachings on family relationships, duties of parents, husband-wife dynamics, and leading a virtuous life.
Subhash Chandrabose, chairman of the District Central Library, discussed the regional categorisation of Valmiki and Boya communities, which differ in various parts of India. He mentioned that MPs have raised the issue in parliamentary sessions.
District collector G Srijana garlanded Valmiki's statue at Gowri Gopal Hospital Circle and emphasised the importance of virtuous deeds in India and the value of the Ramayana as a sacred text. Srijana reminded that Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti celebrations are now recognised as a state festival, honoring the sage's enduring legacy.
