Vice President attends Centenary Day celebrations of Andhra Medical College in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday inaugurated the Andhra Medical College (AMC) Clinical and Biomedical Research Centre, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crore.

The fund is being raised by donations taken from doctors. The Vice President also laid the foundation stone for the building.

The Vice President planted saplings on the AMC premises and unveiled the pylon set up on the premises. He also viewed the photographic exhibition of the AMC from the time it was established to the present day and participated in a photo session.

The Vice President attended the Centenary Day celebrations of Andhra Medical College as the chief guest. Along with him, the AP state governor Abdul Nazir participated.

State IT and industries minister Gudivada Amarnath, a district in charge, state medical health and family welfare minister Viddala Rajini, City Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, Zilla parishad president J. Subhadra, Rajya Sabha members G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Siyam Ramesh, Parliament members B.V. Satyavathi, M.V.V. Satyanarayana, commissioner of medical health department J. Niwas, district collector Dr. A. Mallikharjuna, GVMC commissioner Saikanth Verma, Centenary Celebrations Committee president Dr. T. Ravi Raju, AMC College principal Dr. Buchiraju, KGH superintendent Dr. P. Ashok Kumar, and many district doctors and others participated.
