Chandrababu Naidu's image-building bid to get a professional touch
Vijayawada: The high-profile CM wants to ensure he looks and sounds good as polls draw near. As part of his PR and image-building exercise, his office has roped in a consultancy called M Group. Their brief is to highlight welfare and development projects spearheaded by Naidu for both print and visual media in vernacular languages and English. The consultancy will act in two-way communication mode and is expected to develop a good number of stories exclusively for the AP media as well national media, all of which will project Mr Naidu as the Champion of AP.
The M Group is of the opinion that till now, the desired results of the schemes were not projected properly and haven’t reached the target groups of 80 percent of the population. Mr. Naidu has been saying this time and again. As per a survey being carried out by a few associates of the Chief Minister, the levels of satisfaction generated by the government schemes are only 58 percent. Now, the target of the M Group is to bridge this gap and to show a rise in satisfaction levels up to 80 percent. The M Group is contemplating presenting individual and institutional success stories in various forums.
The Group members have already started eliciting information and opinions in a professional way and getting the official nod, from the officers concerned at various levels. The activities of the Group will be directly monitored by the Chief Minister himself. The CM wants his government to be given due credit for the programmes they have initiated in various disciplines, said a senior bureaucrat. As part of the image building exercise, the office of the Communication Advisor will facilitate the media by feeding information related to the Chief Minister’s progarmmes on a daily basis to reach the masses.
