Kozhikode: Four youths have been arrested under the charge of moral policing at Kandappankundu near Puthupadi on Tuesday. According to Thamarasserry police, the arrested are Tinu alias Gladson (29) of Mailallampara, Puthup-adi, Firoz (34) of Peru-mpally, M.Musammil (18) of Mailallampara and Rajesh alias Kutt-appi (31) of Kannanppa-nkundu.
The incident related to the case occurred at 6.30 pm on Sunday. A Kallan-od native husband and wife were at Kannanpp-ankundu to attend the marriage function of the relative of their friend.
The four youth questioned them as the couple was in their car waiting for their friend to come. They abused the couple and when the husband questioned, the four youth thrashed and kicked him.
According to the complaint of the wife, they attacked her also while trying to prevent the assailants. Meanwhile, the couple’s friend rushed to the spot and he too suffered attack. Both the husband and wife were admitted at hospital and later released. The arrested were produced in court and remanded.
