Heavy Rain Forecast for AP from December 4
Visakhapatnam: IMD Amaravati has forecast heavy rain for coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from December 4 to December 6 following formation of a cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal around December 2.
An IMD report on Tuesday said at present the low-pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait is moving westwards. It lay over South Andaman Sea on Tuesday. It is likely to move west, north-westwards and intensify into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 30.
Thereafter, it is likely to move north-westwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm over southeast Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 48 hours.
IMD has advised farmers to harvest if their crop is ready for harvesting in view of the impending heavy rains.
During the last 24 hours. Satyavedu (Tirupati) received the highest rainfall of 6.2 cm, followed by Koduru (YSR district) 6.1 cm, Guduru (Tirupati) 5.9 cm and Venkatagiri (Tirupati) 4.1 cm.
Lower tropospheric easterly and south easterly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
