Pawan Kalyan immature as leader: K.E. Krishnamurthy
Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy said that actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan was an inexperienced player in politics. His absence from the protest seeking special category status at RK Beach in Vizag was glaring and from this his immaturity is obvious, Mr Krishnamurthy said. Addressing a coordination meeting of party activists on Saturday here, the minister advised the leaders and activists not to pay any heed to the statements of Pawan Kalyan or YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Baseless statements by both the leaders were a complete waste of time, he said.
The minister said despite knowing well that special status was not possible as it had been turned down by the 14th Finance Commission, Mr Kalyan and Mr Reddy were trying to disturb the tranquility in the state. He said the leaders should know about the status first and later hold agitations and whatever they want. He said there are huge benefits from the special packages given by the Centre than the special status, he said. The package would lead to more development. The two leaders were playing with the lives of the people by diverting their attention, he said. They were doing this "drama" to gain political benefits.
The Deputy CM said despite the huge revenue deficit after bifurcation, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was working to develop the state on all fronts. Many industries were likely to come in the state, memorandum of understanding had been signed with several international companies, he added. Pending irrigation projects have been taken up by the government and water supply was extended to the parched regions of Rayalaseema, he said. MP T.G. Venkatesh, MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, MLAs S.V. Mohan Reddy and M. Manigandhi were present.
