Kozhikode: Students protest move to close Marzook College
Kozhikode: Students of Marzook Women’s College, at Kallayi near here, on Wednesday protested the move by the management to close down the college immediately.
However, the management stressed that the college was running on loss and it was not possible to run it further.
More than 600 students belonging to Plus 1, Plus 2 and degree (BA-English, Economics, Sociology and B.Com) are currently studying in the college.
The issues started after the management announced its decision to close the college by March 30. The management said that it cannot pay even the salary of the teachers and the institution can not be run on losses. It asked students to find other colleges.
When the students protested, their parents also joined in and quarreled with the representatives of the management. A decision on the protest is yet to be taken.
