Politicians ride piggy back on film craze in AP
Vijayawada: Politicians across the state are trying to encash on the Baahubali craze. Some have booked theatres screening the film and arranged special shows for their fans.
Followers of some political parties have filled the city and theatres with movie banners along with their respective leaders pictures. Politicians organised processions and arranged huge hoardings of Prabhas along with their images. Prabha’s cutouts were bathed with milk as part of their celebrations.
“We are very happy to celebrate the success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Our local leader has blocked tickets for us and we enjoyed the movie without any tension of getting tickets,” said K. Kaanti Kumar, B.Tech student. Some political grou-ps organised bike rallies across the state wishing the Baahubali team a gra-nd success. Meanwhile, some followers of political leaders sold tickets at a higher price.
“We approached a local politician for tickets and they offered tickets for '800 each. We refused to take them,” said L. Venkatesh.
Online booking sites proved to be a big failure as site servers got hung and no tickets were sold online.
“We tried to book tickets online but site servers are weak. Ticket portals are getting failed in the last minute after seat selection. The government should make online ticketing compulsory to avoid black ticket sale,” said J. Uma Maheswari, a home maker.
Prabhas’ fans staged protests at Hanuman Junction opposing against ticket blockage and black ticket sale.
